La Maison Jaune is perfectly located for adults and children of all ages but we list a few ideas below that our guests have previously enjoyed:
There is a swimming pool on site; with secure fencing and a self-closing gate; a paddling pool is available for the tiny ones.
The beach area of the river Vendee is about 5 minutes drive, which has lifeguards and a few water sports.
In the Forest of Mervent there is an adventure playground – ‘Parc Pierre Brune’ www.mervent-foret.com which is open from May to September. 
A trip to the coast; Chatelaillion-Plage (about 60 minutes drive) has long sandy beaches.
A boat ride to one of the islands from La Rochelle, and a visit to the aquarium.

Take a visit to the zoo park in the forest of Mervent.
For the older children:
There is an adventure park in the Forest of Mervent allowing you to walk through the trees on harnesses and leap into nets.
In Fontenay Le Comte there is a new indoor/outdoor swimming area ( Océanide ) with sauna, Jacuzzi and beach area.
Futuroscope, a theme park based on 3D technology, is in Poitiers, which is approximately 90 minutes drive.
Twenty minutes drive away is a stable and horse riding centre where you can have lessons or go for hacks; English speaking.
A visit to the old mine in Faymoreau is a 10 minute drive.
Puy du Fou offers evening spectaculars and for a medieval evening is a must.
